photoshop jpgs turning to black box

i can see my saved jpgs fine in photoshop and as icons in my folder, just fine ... but then when i open the jpgs in photoshop after a few seconds the boxes turns to black ... it's happened a few times on other computers but not on mine ... wondering what is up ... any suggestions?

sorry .... i thought i did my indesign one here .... have uninstalled twice today. keeps freezing and quitting on different files all day. (on a pc) .... even tried renaming files before opening again, not sure if there is a bug .
