Pixelated Text in InDesign

Hi all, so I've been having this problem where portions of text in these InDesign files I was sent are pixelated and I have no clue how I would go about fixing this problem. I didn't make these files myself, I'm reviewing them for a job, but I cannot for the life of me find the solution to this problem.

Hi,

Winterms suggestion should help you...

Otherwise, what happens when you zoom in ?

In addition to Willi:

for reading, try Display Performance > High Quality Display. If the link is ok, quality ought to turn better.

You won't be able to edit that *text*, anyway. Most likely, it's just a picture!

There are several possibilities how it can happen:

  1. An object with transparency effect is above.
  2. The text was imported as image, like PSD, JPG, PNG, PDF, EPS.

Do you have the InDesign files themselves or only a PDF exported from them?

How is the text done in InDesign?
