Question

Place 'all' or 'range' isn't working correctly

Hi 

When trying to place a multi artboard .ai file or multi page pdf, selecting 'all pages' or selecting a range, it is only placing the first page of the document. Was working fine untill yesterday. Have done a preference reset, and full reinstall and it's still not working properly. 

 

Any ideas?

    We are sorry for the trouble. We are able to replicate the issue at our end. The product team is working on a fix. As @Laubender said, I would also request you to upvote this UserVoice (https://indesign.uservoice.com/forums/601180-adobe-indesign-bugs/suggestions/44963242-17-2-0-18-plac...) if not done already.

     

    In the meantime, you may try the workaround suggested by @Laubender until the fix is released:

      Here the workaround:

       

      Place the multi-page PDF on InDesign pages automatically using a script like this one:

      https://github.com/mike-edel/ID-MultiPageImporter/releases

      Save the InDesign document with the placed PDF pages.

       

      Place the InDesign document pages instead of the PDF pages.

      That still is working with previously drawn out graphic frames.

       

      Also note:

      Placing Illustrator files with more than one artboards is also affected.

        Hi together,

        that's a known new bug with InDesign 17.2.0 that currently is under Review.

         

        Did a bug report at InDesign UserVoice:

         

        17.2.0.18 Place multi-page PDF pages: Place Gun will be unloaded after first page is placed to a frame

        Please vote for fixing the bug.

          I'll add it is only doing this when trying to place in to a frame. I have 8 boxes and want to place one artboard in to each one and it will end the operation after just placing the first box.
