Place image via web URL

Hi community

 

In the past it was possible to place an image via web URL: We opened the "Place" menu and entered the URL in the field for the file name. If we do these steps now, nothing happens.

 

Is this option no longer available? Thanks a lot in advance for your support.

As far as I know, it was  (and is) never possible to do manually. But it's possible by script: download an image locally and place it. Here's info.

    Hi Kasyan. Thanks a lot for your feedback. It definitively was possible to place an image directly by using the URL – we used this function very often. Gladly we will check your proposal (script).
