Placed .psd is smaller than original file

Hi, I've encountered a weird problem - when I place a .psd file that is 1583 x 3898 pixels (300ppi) into my INDD document that is 2480 x 3508 pixels, it comes in at 360 x 935px.

The image info says it's at 100% scale, and when I size it up to it's Photoshop dimensions of 1583x3898 it says it's 347% scale.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening & how to fix?

Hi @_e_s , Pixels in InDesign are a Ruler Unit with an output dimension of 1/72"—if you set your Rulers to Inches, the document’s dimensions would be 34.4444" x 48.7222". Your 1583 x 3898 px image at 300ppi would have an output dimension of 5.277" x 12.993", if you place it at 100% and check its dimensions with the ruler units set to inches it will be the same 5.277" x 12.993".

 

If you want to work in Pixel Ruler units, save your .PSD at 1583 x 3898 px at 72ppi, then when you place at 100% the image frame will have a matching pixel dimension.
