Question

Placing multiple images into frames not working

Placing multiple images not working as normal.

When i have selected mutliple images and ready to drop/place into my file, im able to drop them after each other into the document. click click click etc.
When i drop them in already defined image boxes it places one and cancels the rest of the images.

This is realy disrupting the workflow. Cause now i can only place one image at a time into box frames.

"But when having multiple images on the cursor and i place the first one into an empty box, only the first image gets placed and the whole function just stops."

Hi studio L&B,

what kind of images do you want to place when this happens?

Also graphics from Adobe Illustrator or PDF files?

With plain pixel based images like JPEG files it should work as expected and after placing the first one out of many the cursor should be still populated with the not placed ones.

Thanks,

Yes, a new and known bug in 17.2. If you draw out new frames with the loaded cursor it works, if you click on existing frames the bug kicks in. Adobe knows about this bug so we have to wait for a bugfix.

Place at first one image, show import options and select replace.

Then you can select more. Take care that no frame is above the other frames this happens sometimes to me as an invisible frame covers everything up.

i am able to select more, and place more images. I also have tried bot ways. select replace and ontherwise. But when having multiple images on the cursor and i place the first one into an empty box, only the first image gets placed and the whole function just stops.

Well, seems like a new bug in 17.2 where placing multipage PDFs or placing multiartboard Illustrator files to graphic frames in the layout show exactly that behavior: when the first page or artboard is placed the cursor is unloaded.

Go back to InDesign 17.1.
