Hi @26390400 Master,

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm really sorry to hear that InDesign keeps crashing for you, it definitely shouldn't be happening, especially with a simple 3-page document.

Could you please confirm the exact version of InDesign you're using (for example, 20.4.1 or 20.4) along with the version of Windows installed on your PC? Also, is this crash happening with just this particular document or with all files, even new ones?

I saw that Eugene shared the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool suggestion, please confirm if that helped. If you're still facing the issue, could you let me know if you were able to submit a crash report via the Adobe Crash Reporter dialog box when the app crashed? If not, I'd recommend doing that and sharing your email address with me via DM, so I can pull up the crash logs and investigate further. Reference: https://adobe.ly/4eVy5MS

Looking forward to your update!

HI @Abhishek Rao

Thx for your answer. I use the last version of inDesign with Windows 11 pro 24H2 on an ASUS TUF i7.

CC software generally works very well, except Premiere Pro, which is a bit slow. This isn't the first time InDesign or Illustrator have stopped working after an update. Today, before following Eugène's advice, ID froze when I tried to export the document, so I waited without doing anything. Then it unfroze and now seems to be working fine.
It's still quite mysterious and annoying, especially if you have an emergency. That wasn't the case this morning.

Hi @Fabrice_,

Thanks for the update, and I'm glad to hear InDesign seems to be running fine now, even if the freeze during export gave you a bit of a scare. I completely understand how frustrating that can be.

I'd recommend keeping an eye on whether it's tied to export actions, specific files, or any recent OS or driver updates.

Also, just in case the issue returns, do try running a clean reinstall using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool, as Eugene suggested earlier, it can help resolve any lingering update-related conflicts that a standard reinstall might miss. You can find it here: https://adobe.ly/4eXxNF1

Please keep me posted if it misbehaves again or if anything else comes up, we're here to help!

Reinstalling rarely fixes everything - you can do a complete reinstall using the
Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
