png transparency print issue

I saved this out from InDesign as a jpg so I can post it here. Took out some stuff for confidentiality.

My issue is when I save this as a pdf it looks good just as you see it. If I print this then the logo in the dark blue area at footer ends up having a darker blue background behind it when the logo is transparent png. the logo above in the white/light blue area is the same as the bottom one duplicated so you can see it. That one prints fine with no dark blue background behind it.

Again both are referencing the exact same logo file. All I did was duplicate the bottom logo object and move it to the light blue area. I have no idea why the bottom ones when printed has a darker blue background behind it when it's a transparent png. I even tried saving the logo out as a jpg with the same color blue as the footer is and it still has a darker blue background behind it when printed.

here's the other thing, if i change that dark blue footer background to white then the logo looks fine when printing the document. There's no background behind the logo at all.

Issues like this are almost always a print driver problem—RGB driven print drivers don't always flatten transparency and color manage correctly. You can check the output separation values in AcrobatPro via Output Preview and see if the problem is in the file or with your print driver.

as far as printing, i'm printing to a "Ricoh Aficio SP C831DN" printer. Pretty big printer and it prints CMYK and the illustrator designed logo and the indesign document is in CMYK as well.

This happens if i print directly out of indesign or if i save as pdf and print directly from pdf. The pdf visually looks normal and like its suppose to but printed, it does the same as when printing from indesign directly.

I know the indesign doc was created as CMYK but when i go to print and click on "output" on left then the output is set to Composite RGB. Composite CMYK is greyed out. Could that be due to some image or something is not CMYK and was saved out as RGB and imported into an indesign doc as RGB so it causes it to be outputed either printer or pdf as RGB?

i know when you print certain RGB colors on CMYK its different like some blues etc but not sure if thats happening here. Just need to find out the issue and try and fix it.

heres the other thing is i took the logo and added a background color of the same color as the footer is in illustrator and saved it out as a jpg file and imported it into indesign and it still did the same thing even though the jpg was not transparent like a png is.
