Possible use case question

Here's a link for what we are trying to make with InDesign.

We write a few thousand of these PDFs a year and right now we have a "good" system for doing it.

We write in a basic text editor, then run it through some custom programs to generate a PDF. It works fine, but I am looking for something so we can see immediate changes to a PDF so we can hopefully save some time.

Is it possible to make these at scale in InDesign?

InDesign has a full JavaScript API, so any scripting you are doing with the text editor could also be done with InDesign. Without knowing more details it would be difficult to know whether you would save time. The export from ID to PDF for a simple page like this would be a few seconds.

If you're asking if these can be created in InDesign where you can see any changes you make onscreen and then output your pdfs from there then yes. InDesign is a page layout program where live art and text can always be changed. Exporting pdfs from InDesign is a simple process. Any editing you want to do is best done in the original InDesign document and then a new pdf can be made.

I have no idea what you're asking. You can't see a change in a PDF until you create the PDF.
