Preflight editing

In Preflight Error dialog; What does this mean?Problem: Content generates Cyan, Magenta, or Yellow plate.What do I do to edit the source file and resolve the problem?

You need to edit (or create a new ) preflight profile. If the intent is to send this to print on a device that uses CMYK colors -- a printing press and some digital presses -- then you want to turn off CMYK plate warnings in the preflight profile.

You can have multiple preflight profiles saved for different types of output and theyt should be tailored to the work you do.

You have some sort of color in your file and InDesign seems to think you are designing for screen (your preflight profile warns if you have CMYK color or if you have RGB imafges that will be converted for print) or you intend to have black-only output.

You need to tell us more about your document and how you intend it to be used and we can advise if the preflight profile should be adjusted to change the warnings, or if you need to edit the content.

In the meantime, if you click on the error in the preflight panel it will take you to exactly where the problem (it it's really a problem) is located in your file.
