Presentation View resizes my window. (Intel Mac Ventura)

I can resize my window, make it full width. But every time I enter presentation mode, it goes back to the default window size.

As I like presentation view to check my designs, this is exceptionally annoying, and behaviour I wouldn't exprect from an app that has been around for so long.

Going into Preview view will leave the window size unchanged. But Presentation View is designed to take over the entire window. It's supposed to be the equivalent of a slide show. You usually don't see space around a slide show.
