Printer settings is crashing InDesign

I am using InDesign 16.0.1x64 I have multiple trays in my printer with different paper types. When I click setup and change the tray and paper to a specific type the program crashes.

I'm not saying this is the way things should be, but it'll help us help you sleuth the source of your issues.

 

  1. Go to your Operating System printer settings. Change the feed tray to a different one you want to use/test to see if it works.
  2. Go back to InDesign, and go to print the job. Does it show the difference between the tray you had selected before and the new feed tray you want? If it doesn't, don't change it. Print the job anyway. Does it print from the tray specified with InDesign? Or the one you designated in the OS printer settings?

 

Please test this and let us know the results. It's vitally important for helping us help you. And please, let us know whether you're using InDesign on a Windows or Mac system, the version of the OS on your computer, and the make/model of your printer. Without more information, we really can't help you. At this point, all we can do is say "Sorry to hear that" and commiserate, and take blind shots that may or may not help you.

Print from a PDF created from InDesign – perhaps  choosing High Quality Print from the presets.

Ensure you keep your images in InDesign in RGB color mode, so that your desktop printer's software can use the best conversion to CMYK or CMYKplus.
