I keep getting an error when trying to print my InDesign document as a booklet. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the InDesign and Adobe Acrobat apps and still no luck. I also receive the following error:

%%[ ProductName: Distiller ]%%
%%[Page: 1]%%
%%[Page: 2]%%
%%[Page: 3]%%
%%[ Error: ioerror; OffendingCommand: readstring ]%%

Stack:

øR½=Ö¤%%[ Flushing: rest of job (to end-of-file) will be ignored ]%%
%%[ Warning: PostScript error. No PDF file produced. ] %%

I got this. Mac Mini, Sonoma, InDesign 18.4, ie pretty well the latest greatest. Typical glitch - you would think that by now they would have eliminated this sort of trivial inconvenience. Fortunately it was a simple document. I  copied all the components roughly onto another page - output fine. I created a new document and pasted everything in place - outputs fine. NOT  a font problem, NOT an Excel tables problem. Just rubbish software. First document was a Save As from one which previously output fine but has now acquired the same bug. Unimpressed.

Current version of InDesign is 19.3. Current version of Sonoma is 14.4 and anything earlier than 14.3 was a complete mess.

There is a similar thread on this topic: https://community.adobe.com/t5/indesign-discussions/printing-error-the-adobe-print-engine-has-failed-to-output-your-data-due-to-an-unknown-problem/td-p/9319837

Do you have any data copy and pasted from Excel in your document?

Can you please specify which version you are using?
