Question

Printing from INDD

I am having a problem printing from INDD. When I try to print from a document the printer simply spits out a blank page. If I make a .pdf on that same pages it comes out fine.

Any ideas?

Hi, @Mesa316,

as you do not give any useful information let's start at the beginning.

1) What OS are you using?

2) What InDesign version?

3) What printer model?

4) What printer driver (PostScript or what printing language else (PCL etc.)) and version?

5) What kind of objects (text, eps images etc.) are on that page?

6) ...

Regards

Stephan

You are completely right. Sometimes I get so frustrated I forget the details.

I am on Windows 10 running INDD v. 18.0.

The printer is an inexpensive HP model 2700 and the copy is strictly text. In this care it is only one page, but I have had the same problem previoulsly with multiple pages.

Many on this forum advise printing from the PDF; not InDesign, owing to issues about color rendering. Otherwise, simply rebooting everything and doing some OS maintenance often makes vague problems go away.
