Problem with tables in 2020

Question

I am having a problem with indesign 2020 that I dont have with 2019. In 2020 when I try to apply a stroke to a table I cannot get one, or it applies the stroke only to the inside row and column lines and not the outer lines.

Does anyone know if this is a bug and if there is a fix?

Hi Kathryn: I have not seen a difference in how InDesign handles tables in 2019 vs 2020. (In all versions, it is equally confusing.)

So, are you trying to add a stroke around the entire table? If so, click in a table cell and use Table > Table Options > Table Setup. If not, please provide more detail and a screen shot.

Edit: In my video I selected the table, but you don't have to do that. You can just click in a cell as it says above.
