    Hi @GIULIACIMMI

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. To help us investigate further, could you please confirm your InDesign version (Help > About InDesign) and your operating system and version? Also, does this happen with one specific PDF or with every PDF you place into InDesign?

In the meantime, please try a few troubleshooting steps: check whether Text Wrap is enabled on the placed PDF/image and disable it, verify that the text frame is above the PDF by using Object > Arrange > Bring to Front, and try placing the PDF again using File > Place.

If the issue persists, please share a sample .indd file, the affected PDF, and a few screenshots or a short screen recording. If the files are confidential, you can share them with us via DM using Google Drive, Dropbox, or another file-sharing service.

    Looking forward to your update.

    Abhishek

It sounds like you have text wrap applied as a default. With nothing selected, open the text wrap panel and turn it off.
