Problème assemblage Indesign

Bonjour,

Hi @romaint60377408,

Thanks for sharing the details and sorry to hear that you experience this. Just to make sure I'm fully aligned, could you please confirm the exact version of InDesign you are using and the details of your operating system? Also, does this behavior happen only with this specific file, or do you see the same issue with other InDesign documents as well?

When you mention 'assembly', I want to confirm that you are referring to the Package feature in InDesign. If yes, do you see any warning or alert messages in the packaging dialog before the process completes? If there are any alerts, please share a screenshot of that screen, so I can review it more closely.

Additionally, please let me know where the placed images are stored. Are they located on a cloud service, a network location, or an external drive, rather than locally on your system drive? If they are stored remotely, try copying all the images to a local folder on your computer, relink them in InDesign, and then test packaging again to see if the issue persists.

If the problem still continues after that, please try saving the document as an IDML file, then open that IDML, save it again as a new INDD file, and run the packaging process once more.

Please let me know how it goes, and feel free to share any observations or screenshots.

Abhishek

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. I have the latest version of InDesign 2026. The problem only occurs with this file, which contains a lot of photos. I can confirm that the assembly is indeed a “package.” I don't get any warning messages. The photos are on a server, and I tested on a new document and had no issues; they are correctly placed in the link folder. I cannot retrieve all the photos and put them on my desktop because it is too much work; there are a lot of photos in my catalog.

Thanks

Hi @romaint60377408,

Thanks for the update. Just to complete the picture, could you please confirm the exact InDesign version you're using and the details of your operating system as well?

At this point, we'll need to isolate whether accessing images from the remote server is contributing to the behavior. Even though I understand it's a large catalog, testing with the images available locally is an important step to help narrow this down. If possible, moving the images or their folder to a local drive and testing packaging from there will help us confirm whether the server is involved.

Also, for the new document you tested, were the images placed from the same server location, or were those files stored locally on your machine?

Lastly, were you able to try the IDML step I mentioned earlier? Please let me know how that goes as well.

Looking forward to your update.

Abhishek
