I’m sorry to hear about your experience. I was able to open the shared file in InDesign 21.3 without any issues. Could you check if there are any pending OS/InDesign updates and install them to see if it helps?
Also, try opening the file in InDesign after moving it to a local folder on your computer that is not being synced/backed up, and share your observations.
