Converted means you're opening them in a differnt version from the one last used to save them.

What exactly do you mean that the imagers no longer appear? Do they show as missing in the links panel, or is this just a case of you need to adjust your display performace preferences?

So they are missing in the Links Panel?

Are they stored locally on your hard drive, or on a network location? Are you able to relink them normally?

What version of InDesign and Your OS are you now using?
