Hi , our libraries are not available to us anymore. We work on virtual desktops under citrix. Has anyone a solution for us?

Thanks!

Hi @Frank_DTP Boon Food Group,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand how disruptive it can be when your libraries stop showing up, especially in a shared Citrix setup. Could you please confirm which version of InDesign you're currently using? You can also try signing out and back into the Creative Cloud desktop app to see if that helps the libraries appear again.

If that doesn't resolve it, I'd suggest trying the following steps to refresh the Creative Cloud components:

Close all Adobe applications, then remove the Creative Cloud desktop app, CCLibrary, and CoreSync using the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool: https://adobe.ly/4mkYJCc.
After that, reinstall the Creative Cloud desktop app from here: https://adobe.ly/43fQrCS, and relaunch InDesign to check if your libraries load correctly.

If possible, try testing the same behavior on a local machine outside the Citrix environment. That can help us determine if the issue is tied specifically to virtualization.

Just to share, Adobe has done limited testing of Creative Cloud apps in virtualized environments like Citrix. This testing is fairly basic, so we recommend evaluating your workflows on a trial version before rolling it out fully in such setups. You can find more details here: Adobe Support Boundaries for Virtual Environments.

Let me know how it goes and I’ll be happy to help further.

Same issue here a while ago when we were using Citrix in our company, we ran into similar problems with the Adobe libraries and syncing in InDesign. After several workarounds that didn’t hold up, we decided to switch to a full virtual desktop infrastructure outside of Citrix.

Since we moved to a Virtual Desktop solution hosted by UNIVIRTUAL, everything has been running much smoother, including the Adobe suite. Might be worth looking into alternatives to Citrix if you keep having issues.

Here’s the platform we use now:  https://www.univirtual.ch/en/business-core/virtualization-telecommunication/virtual-machine, it worked well for our setup.

Hope that helps!

Frank,

It has been my experience that InDesign does not function well running within Citrix.

Hi Abhishek,

We found out that the problem is Citrix. When launched outside the Citrix set-up, the libraries are available again.

Thanks  for your help!
