Publish Online Feature in InDesign 2020

I'm looking to move my client over from traditional print (budget!) to publishing a seasonal brand pack online as an interactive rich media magazine & I don't have a massive amount of exeprience in this area. I've worked with InDesign for so many years but never needed to used the 'Publish Online' feature. I wanted to reach out & see if anyone could direct me to a decent tutiorial to begin with?

I'm also questioning if using this feature is the best option currently, I've looked at 'In5' extention for InDesign which has some good reviews.

Q - Can you publish to a private URL or does it just publish to my own Adobe account?

Any guiadance would be greatly received.

Best regards,

Toby

Publish Online is only hosted on Adobe servers. Without more info, it's impossible to guide you further.

What exactly are you trying to accomplish? What does "interactive rich media" mean?

FWIW, in5, IMO, is far superior especially for touch enabled and mobile devices.

Hi Bob,

Thanks for the quick response. I'm basically wanting to convert an exisiting print brand pack to an online version that can be distributed to my clients staff & stores.

With regards to Rich media, I meant potentailly adding in videos & animation to bring it to life rather than a straight copy of the printer version. I will need to host it somewhere other than Adobe servers.

I've seen the in5 but could you possibly elaborate on the FWIW & IMO. I would be looking to to produce content that would be viewed on an iPad.

Thanks again for your help with this.

Best,

Toby

As Bob mentioned, Publish Online is hosted only on Adobe's servers. in5 seems the way for you to go. You will need to invest some time in learning to use the facility – they have excellent tutorials via the Ajar Academy: https://academy.ajarproductions.com
