Is it possible to open quark 4 files created on PC using CS6 on a Mac?

I seem to remember that you could if it was Mac ID opening Mac Quark or PC-to-PC (i.e., program-to-program was OK, but not across platforms), but it's been so long, I'm not sure.

Just to be clear, you are talking about opening Quark into InDesign, then staying in ID, correct? If you were thinking about going back-and-forth, I don't recommend that, even if it were possible (which I doubt).

It should work fine to open a Quark 4 PC file in Mac InDesign CS6. InDesign uses paragraph composer and Quark uses single line composer -- that may also cause changes in line breaks, but you can select the text and choose Single-Line Composer from the Paragraph panel menu. However, there may still be changes in line breaks unless you have the same fonts installed as are being used in the Quark file.

To open a Quark 4 file in InDesign, you need to use InDesign CS6 or earlier.
