Question about digital publishing

Several versions of Indesign ago (CS6?), I was able to create a portfolio of my work to be viewed in iBooks on my iPad. I forgot if the output format was PDF. In the portfolio, I was able to create pages with different heights, which scrolling within the pages were possible if the pages are taller than the screen size. For the scrolling, there was even an option of smooth scrolling or scrolling that snaps in increments.

I know that capability has since been removed from InDesign. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that now the Digital Publishing Suite and Folio Builder would be the closest thing that would achieve this. Can I create the same portfolio with various page sizes with scrolling using the Folio Builder? Does the Folio Builder have the same capabilities?

Thank you.

DPS has been dropped, maybe Publish Online might suit you (assuming you don't mind Adobe hosting, and users having to be online, and you can't monetise). If you only want to view on an iPad have a look at iBooks Author, Lynda.com have several online video training courses (you can get a 30-day free trial): Learning iBooks Author 2016 and Creating a Photo Book with iBooks Author

Thank you Derek and FeAle. Both your answers are helpful. However, I'm using CC 2017. Without having to revert back to CC 2014, is there any way to create an EPUB or PDF (or other formats) that can support various page heights? I know it is possible with PDF, but with pages that are larger than the iPad screen, it automatically shows fit-to-screen. Instead, I would like it to show at 100%.

Thanks.

If you want something that’s responsive you can’t use InDesign at all.

I see. Thanks, Bob. I wish Adobe brings back that capability.

Hi,

You can use Folio Builder until CC 2014 version. In Preferences from Creative Cloud app choose Show older apps, in settings
