Has anyone else had trouble creating gradient feathers in InDesign? No matter what I try, my radial feather gradients have a linear feather gradient too. Is it a bug, or am I just missing something?
The top frame is a radial gradient inside of a rectangle.
The middle frame is the same radial gradient inside of a square.
The bottom frame is the rectangle pasted inside of a square, which looks the most like your screen shot. I'm not sure what you have, or how it was created, but can you describe what you want, and what steps you are taking to get it?
I'm drawing a square using the rectangle tool, filling it in with black, and clicking with the gradient feather tool, selecing the radial type gradient. Also attaching a screengrab that shows exactly what I'm doing.
This process yields a shape with both a radial and linear feather gradient, so there's both shading in the center and on just one side of the shape. I've tried adjusting colors and placements, but my options seem to be limited--though, again, could totally be something I'm missing.
I want a pure radial gradient, so there's some shading in the center of a circular area, fading out to a totally transparent 360-degree circumference.
