I too am having link trouble after updating to InDesign Version 20 (InDesign 2025) last Tuesday or the Tuesday before that.

I have tried:

-relinking
-Adjusting link files and relinking
-Re-placing linked file (ctrl+d)
-Uninstalling and reinstalling InDesign 2025
-Uninstalling InDesign 2025 for version 19.5 (2024)
-Making a new File in the 2025 version and copy/pasting the old assets to the new file.
-Making the design from scratch with the same images (links)
-Converting the file back to the 19.5 version of InDesign and relinking, re-placing, copy/pasting.

None of this works.
Adobe!! Please fix your software!! We have deadlines...

    Hi @Prismatic,

Thanks for reaching out and sharing the details!

It sounds like you’ve already tried a number of troubleshooting steps, but the issue persists. Please try the suggestions below and let us know if it help:

    1. Cache corruption can cause link issues. Try resetting your InDesign preferences by holding Shift + Ctrl + Alt (Windows) or Shift + Command + Option + Control (Mac) when launching InDesign. Reference: https://adobe.ly/3YtMV6L

    2. Ensure there are no special characters in the file paths of your linked files. InDesign may sometimes have trouble with overly long paths or those containing unusual characters.

    3. Verify that you have full read/write access to the folders where your linked files are stored, as permission issues may block InDesign from accessing them.

    4. Run a Preflight check (Window > Output > Preflight) to catch any issues with links or file paths that may not be obvious.

    5. If all else fails, try manually relinking by going to the Links panel, selecting the broken links, and clicking the Relink button, navigating to the correct location.

We will wait to hear from you.

    Best,
