What file is that? There is no recovery file that the user can open. If InDesign crashes while attempting a recovery, you should plan on restoring a backup and working on that.

When you say "recovered file" are these files that were opened automatically on a restart of InDesign after a crash and then resaved, or or are you trying to open files from the recovery folder? If the latter, that is not possible. Recovery data is only usable by the auto-recovery system in the program, and if that fails to open a crashed file you are out of luck.

Why there are files in recovery directory if Indesign does not use them, nor I can open them. 1GB!

Normally InDesign DOES use them to auto-recover your work after a crash, but sometimes that data is also damaged and unusable.

It's important to do frequent saves, period Save As to re-write the file, and to have some sort of backup routine in place for important data.
