Reflowable EPUB exported from InDesign displays incorrectly in Kindle Previewer. A 74-page book becomes about 238 reading screens with short paragraphs isolated by large blank spaces. What InDesign EPUB setting could cause this?

Here are some additional details that may help.

• The EPUB is exported as Reflowable EPUB from Adobe InDesign 2026.
• The original InDesign document contains 74 designed pages.
• Kindle Previewer displays approximately 238 reading screens.
• Many introductory paragraphs consisting of only one to three lines appear by themselves on a screen with a large blank area below before the following paragraph begins.

I have already verified:

• Reflowable EPUB export
• Paragraph Styles
• Export Tagging
• Split Document (EPUB only) is disabled for Body Text
• Space Before = 0
• Space After = 0
• EPUB export settings have been reviewed
• The EPUB exports without errors.

The book was originally designed for print, and each page contains one complete topic. Each page uses its own independent text frame rather than one continuous threaded story.

Could this document structure contribute to the reading flow issue, or are there other InDesign EPUB settings that I should investigate?
