Relink several times the same image in different layouts

When you add a graphic into InDesign it is linked to the file on the disk. If you modify that file, then InDesign will see the modification in every file that you open and will prompt you to update it.

If I'm understanding your workflow correctly, it seems to be that the easiest thing to do is to replace the original image on your hard drive with the new image, but continue to use the original name, extension and location. That will prompt InDesign to update the link for you when you open any file that references it. You don't need to do anything beyond click Update Links when you open the file.

Are all the files using the same version of the image that is stored within a folder along with the InDesign files? Are there actually several individual InDesign files or are you using multiple layouts within the same InDesign file? If all of the layouts are within the same file and there is only a single image involved then just a simple updating in the layers panel would update all of the layouts at once. Please explain exactly what the workflow is here.
