you best have to edit the logo in the application that created it.

What kind of file type is it? *.ai ? Edit it with Adobe Illustrator. *.pdf ? Open it with Acrobat Pro DC and check under Document Preferences in tab Description what application is listed under Application.

As @SJRiegel says, InDesign is not an all-in-one graphics tool. You can create and edit vector graphics using its drawing tools, but otherwise, images and charts and so forth are external object it can only manage at the "box" level.

If you right-click on the logo, though, you will have two integral options: Edit Original and Edit With, the latter of which will let you select any tool you have for the purpose. Doing edits that way will be "from within" InDesign and you will immediately see the result when you return, instead of having to go find the file and work with it separately.

Pro tip, though: make sure you are working with a copy of your downloaded file, so that if you mess it up or want to use it unmodified, you still have it.

Depending on how the logo was created, it would be best edited in either Illustrator or Photoshop. InDesign is not an image editor; graphics and photos are edited in other programs, and then placed into the InDesign layout.
