Question

resize rows and columns

Hey all, this might be very trivial, but I’m totally helpless how to resolve it. Is there a way to move table frames within individual rows/columns? I found that holding shift and dragging should help, but same thing happens: the whole row/column moves. Did anyone face and resolve this?

Thank you!

It's not entirely clear from your description, but I suspect you may be trying to resize an individual cell without affecting the rest of its row and/or column, they way you can in some word processors. InDesign's table conventions do not allow that.

Hi @Papilion226283986mdp:

No question is too trivial to ask, but we do need clarity. Tables reside inside of frames, and the table content resides inside of table cellsSo does "Is there a way to move table frames within individual rows/columns?" mean you need to move content from one cell to another? You can select the cell's content and drag and drop, but only if you enable Drag and Drop text editing in Layout view first. You can also use Edit > Cut, and Edit > Paste to move content.

If I've misunderstood the question, please give it another shot. Screen shots always help us. If you show us what you need, it simplifies the process.
