Question

Revisions, so that the last saved version can be reverted to earlier saved

I want to know if the revision option can be updated for adobe indesign, as the option is turning as a boon for all designers who want to revert for the version which they had done before saving the latest edition, which was problematic.

This is a built-in feature in Adobe's other page layout application: Adobe FrameMaker, and is called Backup on Save.

When enabled, every time we save a FrameMaker file (i.e., MyProject.fm), the last saved version is automatically moved to a backup file with the word backup in the filename (i.e., MyProject.Backup.fm). This means we always have the current version of the file and the last-saved version in the project folder.

I keep this option enabled, but I've only needed it a handful of times in 35 years of using FrameMaker. I will say that those few times have been extremely helpful. You could certainly log this as an InDesign feature request on https://indesign.uservoice.com/..

In InDesign, I just use the automatic versioning features in dropbox, as described by @BobLevine and others.

I simply save every version with a new version number appended as part of the name.

If you save your file in a Dropbox or OneDrive folder you can revert to any recently saved version with a couple of mouse clicks. I highly recommend working in either of the two since even an accidental deletion can be reversed.

I will explain with an example, I will be working on a design and saves it.
Later I modify the design and save it and the client tells me that the old
design was better. Now my problem is returning to the last saved version.

Thanks and Regards,

If you want to specifically name your older revisions, then your only option is to do a manual Save As and name your files accordingly.

Other than that, @BobLevine has already suggested to use the built-in versioning option of various cloud services. Your other option is to use the built-in incremental backup systems (Time Machine on Mac or its equivalent on Windows), although their revision backups would increment according to time intervals, not specifically by each Save command.
