Question

Ruler origin set to "spine" does not align

What's the point of having an option to set the ruler origin to "spine" when it just doesn't work xD (see images)

It just aligns the rulers to some random value

If I misunderstood and it's not even supposed to do what it sounds like... What is this setting for?

Hi @samulisamuli , The usage is more obvious in a facing page document with a gatefold spread:

Rulers to Spine:

Rulers to Page:

Rulers to Spread:

Thanks!

Yeah I understand what it's intended for, but why doesnt align with the grid is beyond me

See : it misses the grid by some random amount of pixels: (image also in my original post)

so the feature is completely useless?

I’m not seeing that here wih CC2021:

Have you tried clearing your Caches and if that doesn’t work resetting your Prefs? UI problems are often Cache related.

Its only function is to set the zero point at the junction of a spread. (It will not, for example, find the center of a spine page in a 3-page layout, or the center of a non-spread page.)

It's not a very useful setting and you'll find suggestions to avoid it, except in 2-page spread layouts where symmetrical rulers are an advantage, going way back.
