Running Header on Basic Book template; I can't edit it! Help!

Hello InDesign experts!

I have a very simple question. I'm using the basic novel/poetry book template provided by Indesign to lay out a novella. Everything has gone well, except that I can't seem to edit the running header at the very top of the page-- on the left hand pages it's BOOK AUTHOR, on the right hand pages it's NAME OF THE BOOK. Obviously I need to be able to put my name and the book title in those spots; but can't figure out how! Text tool does nothing. It seems maybe encoded on a master page, but i don't know how to access that... Am a novice!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Thank you so much

Warmly

Sylvia

    Hi.

A search-replace including master pages will do it quickly.

(But you will not learn anything about master pages…)
