Question

Saving an InDesign CC 2019 file on a network drive causes InDesign to crash

This problem occurs every time I save a file to a network drive, the application crashes and quits - the file is saved correctly and reopening the application will start the recovery process and or the file can be reopened from the network drive.

This was also a problem for InDesign CC 2018 and a hotfix was released here: InDesign crashes while saving a file on a network drive

This solved the problem for InDesign CC 2018, but this fix can not be applied to InDesign CC 2019.

Hi,

Please follow the instructions in the KbDoc to Submit a crash report for InDesign.

  • Please provide more information at santalwa@adobe.com
  • Are you facing issue with InDesign CC 2018(13.1.0.76) also or the crash is specific to InDesign CC 2019(14.0.0.130)?
  • OS
  • System configuration
  • Reproducible Steps – What were you doing when you encountered the issue in InDesign?
  • Error snapshot or video recording of the issue?
  • Is(Are) the issue related to a specific document(s)/asset(s)? If Yes, Can you please provide the document(s)/asset(s)?

Did you read the original comment - half the information is in there?

it always happens with 2019 but also happens with 2018 before there was a fix

it happens when saving any new file to a network share

I'm running mojave on an i7 27" imac with 32gb of ram

I read the above comments

The fix mentioned in the link above is for InDesign CC2018(13.0.1) which is part of InDesign CC2018(13.1.0.76).
