Screen Reader is Reading Alt Text for Graphics Twice

This has been driving me crazy today and I hope someone can provide a solution to it.

All I'm trying to do is add alt text to some objects in my document, which I successfully complete in the Object Export Options. However, once I export the PDF, my screen reader (NVDA) will read the alt text twice in a row.

Is there a way to stop this from happening?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

Did you put both Alt-Text and Actual Text on the graphic?

If so, that can cause a screen reader to voice it twice.

Which version of InDesign do you use? Did you export as a tagged PDF? Can you please show a screeshot of your Object Export Option?
