Scripting shape sizes

Hi all,

Is there any way to use a variable from a data merge to establish the *size* of an object. E.g. scale an object by 1x,2x etc based a 1 or 2 imported in a "Size" column?  What about position? Is it possible to transform (move) an object by x units based on a variable?
