Selected Preset disregarded when creating a package

We have been finding that InDesign is not following instructions when it creates a package. It creates files that may be too big or too small. We are using InDesign 2022. Is anyone else enountering this problem? Using a package script appears to be consistently using the right settings.

Using Windows 10 and the latest version of InDesign 2022.

Resolution was way too low for archiving purposes in multiple files created from my work computer. A coworker's computer created a file with too high of resolution. These are just examples. It just hasn't been reliable in what settings it uses. We suspect it may be pulling settings from the last used preset rather than the one chosen on the package screen.

Can you please be specific on the versions - latest doesn't tell us what version you have?

Are you talking abou the PDF resolution?

That's the only place resolution would be set in exporting to a different file format.

Other than that - images/links are transferred as they are - no optimising or downsampling.

When you Package the File you are given the option which PDF setting to use

You select the PDF setting that's appropriate

If you don't see a PDF setting or none of the default ones suit you can create your own PDF setting - and if you share this file (a .pdfoptions file) with your coworker - you will both have the same PDF settings for Packaging
