Set InDesign Default Place to All Files

Whenever I go to place a file, the default is "Importable Files". I then have to change it to all files to see files formats that are clearly importable but not listed as importable. In the past -- if I remember correctly -- I seem to only have to change it once, and it remembered to show all files with CTRL-D place.

How can I make All Files the default Place setting?

Thanks.

A related question: Does WMF/EMF (circa 1992) file format work with InDesign's color-management workflow?

What file format does not show up for you that is actually importable?

EMF.  I know this is an old format, but it is one I use a lot because it is compatible with Adobe and MS Office apps, and I have many, many files in that format.
