sharing files

Hello,

I have an EOY project that involves an interactive timeline. I have been searching for ways to create this timeline and recently learned that I can utilize Adobe InDesign for this part of the project. However, I need to know if I were to make the interactive doc and share it, would my teacher, who doesn't have a subscription, be able to access this file? I would appreciate this information before starting this part of my project in case my teacher won't be able to access it.

Ps- I would also need to know ways to share if possible.

I'm not sure InDesign is the right tool/platform for this. Yes, it has powerful document and graphic capabilities, and supports several kinds of sharing and online publication, but it's not really a collaborative tool except in the sense that two users can share independent worktime on a project. Your instructor would, more or less, have to have a copy of ID, and it's not cheap enough, IMHO, to keep around as a document reader.

You can use ID to make very complex interactive documents using the included Adobe Publish Online platform, but that is more or less one-way publication, with some limited commenting and remote editing features slowly being developed. You can also create rather elaborate interactive PDFs, but that too is a mostly one-way, one-to-many solution, not a collaborative model.

Just kind of spitballing, I'd look into a WordPress installation with a calendar/scheduling plugin. You'd need to host that somewhere, but it's the solution that comes to mind from your general sketch of needs.
