Shift/drag and Opt/drag not working in InDesign 2024

Shift/drag for proportional sizing and Opt/drag for copying are not working in InDesign 2024. I have a brand new M3 Pro MacBook with clean install of InDesign 2024, Sonoma 14.2.1. Works fine in Illustrator and Photoshop.

Any ideas?

Sorry to hear about the trouble. I have seen a similar issue, which was resolved after removing the Webroot application. If you don't have any such application, please try rebooting the computer and then launch InDesign and check if that solves the issue. If nothing works, please try resetting InDesign preferences and let us know how it goes.

Rebooting did the trick. All is well. Should have tried that — it usually fixes things. Webroot was not found, btw.
