Some control panel options are missing

InDesign 2020 (v15.0) on a Mac.

After the update, some of the options on (actually just above) the Control Panel section have disappeared. I have attached a screenshot with the affected items circled. All I have in their place is a small "home" icon.

This screenshot is from the Adobe Online Help pages. In my previous version of InDesign, these items didn't appear in the menu bar - they appeared just below it/above the control panel items.

I have tried every preference option and every menu item. I have deleted preferences and caches on my system. I've spent way too much time on this and cannot find a solution. I REALLY need these items back.

Any clue on how to fix this?

Hi jrm21,

there is nothing to fix; unfortunatelly the items were removed in InDesign 2020.

But you can access them from elsewhere in the interface.

Look into the View menu, the bottom of your Tools panel, under Window > Arrange and under the File menu.

The zoom can be adjusted in the document window at the lower left.

Thanks for the response. The feature I needed the most is the Screen Mode selection, which is now available on the side vertical toolbar. Unfortunately, this makes it less functional for me (much smaller icon target and activation now requires a long button-press).  I'm reinstalling the previous version now.

Why not just use the keyboard shortcuts?

They've all been moved. Check the bottom of the tools panel as well as the window menu for the arrange choices.

There are quite a few posts on this topic. Look around.

Thanks for the response. I did several searches here (and on Google) for "control panel" and "toolbar" - the only results that came up were a few years old.

The screen shot I posted is from the current online Adobe help pages. It shows the items where they have always been. Pretty confusing to have an out-of-date screen layout there.

I'll probably look at reverting to a previous version to restore the functionality. IMO, absurd to move/remove these items. There are still items in the horizontal area, so the removal doesn't save anything. It only creates a blank space. Seems like a random change for the sake of change.

It's certainly a solution in search of a problem but the functionality is still there.
