SOS! Indesign won't save/save as and I can't undo

This morning when I went to undo, InD would jump back more than just one undo and delete pages. I updated InD and restarted my computer and it was still doing it - I've been trying to power through and not hit CTRL+Z (very difficult, might I add). But now, I am unable to save/save as my work. Please advise!!

If you stuck in and you cannot save an INDD file, try following to save your content:

Save or Export as IDML.

If that does not work, create a new file with the very same baseline grid settings and page size (with the same bleed), but without any styles and only a layer which you will delete later (name it something like 0000) and 2 pages. And from Laout in the old document select move pages to the new document at the end, save the new document and delete ther first 2 pages.

  1. Quit InDesign.
  2. Delete your Preferences.
  3. Relaunch InDesign.
  4. Problem solved.
