Space at top of columns for text frame?

Hello, I am reusing a file from a previous designer that worked on this file. I'm updating it to the new brand and I'm currently working on the text frame column options. For some reason, I cannot figure why there is additional space at the top of the second and third columns. Any solution to push the text up? I don't think there's padding? (Yes, there's some editing to the text needing to be done yet)

Check the Accounting parapgraph; see if Span Columns has been selected for that paragraph.

Hi @rebecca.craft ,

could you share the text frame with the three columns in a one-page document?

I'd like to see into the case more closely.

Thanks,

Have you checked the Type/Paragraph settings? There are so many ways to apply vertical spacing in text. I dont see a hidden glyph so it's something like "Space Before/After" or similar setting.

Paragraph space does not apply at the top of a column.

There was no span column selected, in fact, none on the list were selected. I changed it to single column and it's fixed! Thanks.

Can you clarify your post? You said there wasn't any spam column selected, but then you changed it to single column, effectively turning span column off.

Do you mean the Span Column setting was blank/empty? That would mean you had a mix of settings--some on and some off.
