Question

Space between first and second word in the beggining is not same for every line in one text box

Hello, I made endnotes and I'm postin some text and hyperlinks, but for the most of those lines space between number that refers to a number of endnote and a first word or a hyperlink is not same. I can see small dot and it is not in the same position for every line. How can I make them same for everything?

Hi @brankica:

When a paragraph is set to justified, InDesign adjust the spaces to force the text to the right margin so their width is unpredictable.

A tab (^t) is the default setting, but you might also try an em space (^m) or an en space (^>) to see which one you prefer. Like the others who have already commented, I do recommend not relying on a space. All of this—including creating an endnote paragraph style—is handled in Type > Endnote Options.

Do you use a tab between number and text?

The dot is possibly the invisible character for a space - which would be different depending on the width of the character preceding it.

You'd want to make it a TAB between the endnotes

And set the TAB in the Paragraph Style for your end notes
