Hi @Rivkah5FC6:

The key to spanning multiple columns is how you have defined the text frames.

In InDesign, you can have multiple threaded frames sitting side-by-side, or you can divide one frame into muliple columns. To use the span command, you need to have one frame divided into multiple columns.

Threaded frames won't work:

@Rivkah5FC6:

Split and Span were added to InDesign CS5, released in 2010. They have been included in each version since then, including the most current version, CC 2021.

Thank you very much again. I understand what you are saying.

But if I span a title over multiple columns, do I have to manually move it the middle of the text box? Because mine doesn't automatically go to the middle

Hi @Rivkah5FC6:

It is in the Windows > Type > Paragraph panel menu (and the Control Panel menu) – the little cheeseburger button in the top right corner.

Thank You so much Barb

When i do that though, how do I span it so that that the title goes over multiple columns though?
