Spellchecking not working after creating a new language (ID 18.3)

I have introduced a new language, Latin (la_VA), using the Hunspell extension. I followed the instructions to do so. That meant modifying the 'info.plist'. All is gone well. Now I have Latin among all the other languages.

However, spellchecking has stopped working. I have deleted “InDesign Defaults” and “InDesign SavedData” files and restarted the application, but nothing has changed.

Last time I encountered this problem, I had to reinstall InDesign completely, from the ground up. Is there anything I can try so as to avoid the reinstallation process?

Is the Language "Latin" applied to the Latin text either with the Control Panel > Character Mode > Language and/or with styles?

The whole text is in Spanish with expressions in English, French and Latin. The problem is that dynamic spellchecking does not work. No error in the text is underlined, in any language.

To be more thorough in troubleshooting the problem, you could try deleting both your InDesign preferences and caches. Here's how to do that:
