Spinning colour wheel on indesign MacBook Air 2020

I've been working on an Indesign file and everytime I scroll, press any button the coloured wheel pops up! I've deleted the preferences like everyone says to do, but it still is happening. What should I do? I have a deadline on Monday so would urgently like some aid please 🙂
