Split content automatically in indesign

Hi! I’m designing a document with many tables, and I can’t figure out how to get InDesign to automatically split cell content across page breaks; instead, it’s creating unwanted empty space at the bottom of the pages. Is there a way to solve this problem?

You have to split the cell manually and then remove/add any cell strokes around the text you want. For instance if you have a large paragraph or a list in the cell, it’s best to have them on individual rows, then then remove the stroke between them, so they appear as a list still, but have an individual row.

It's very manual and slow.
