Still Can't Select Salt Feature in a Style in CC 2019?

Updating a design that uses the old Bulmer MT Alt font to the Bulmer MT Pro font. Trying to use the 'salt' feature in the pro font to get the alternative numbers that were in the old "Alt" font, but can't figure out how.

The characters are in the font, I can insert them using the Glyphs palette, and exporting it as tagged text to see it show the salt feature is being used. Also found this post.

The alt characters are used in page numbers that are references on master pages.

Is there still no way to select the salt feature in a style.

Thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,

This post will be best answered on our scripting forum. Hence, moving the thread to InDesign Scripting forum.

No, this should be added to the InDesign Feature request. Scripting cannot access anything more than the Document Model already allows. There are only a few minor exceptions to this rule -- and this is not one.

FWIW This one missing "standard" feature has been bugging me ever since I found it lacking. (Somewhere around CS or CS2, that is, 16 and some years ago.) To add insult to injury, it has been available in Illustrator and Photoshop for years.

This is, indeed, strange. InDesign should be the first application to have that. The only way to change the glyphs, in this case, is to change individualy.
