Still have InDesign CS4 - updated to High Sierra and now no files open/work?

Hi All,

What is the best course (financially driven) to get CS4 idd files to open and work?

I just upgraded my Mac OS to High Sierra... all my CS4 files won't open.

Do I need to upgrade to CSx? (I've heard I can't go to CS6... unless I have CS5)...

Are there any free upgrades?

I realize I'm super out of date... is the ONLY option to go CS6 or 7? And at full price?

Thanks!

cs4 is not compatible with your os and there are no free updates of cs4 that are compatible.

you need to upgrade to cc, https://creative.adobe.com/plans

there are no free upgrades.

you can't mix the latest OS with old software and expect it to continue to work. like bob said. downgrade the OS or upgrade the software.

By downgrading your OS you open your computer to attack and hack. So i would advice for you to spend the money for new software and you will be glad you did. it is cheaper to upgrade your adobe software than have to pay $500 to somebody who hack your machine and is holding it for ransom. New OS means updates and security patches.

The best course is to roll back to an earlier operating system using your back up. There is no other choice that isn’t going to involve upgrading InDesign to Creative Cloud.

I upgraded my Mac to high sierra and lost ability to use CS3. Love that program, don't know how to roll back OS. Can you send a link? Will everything I did since I upgraded be lost on other programs? I am just not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to messing with OS or messed up applications. Thanks a million sissi
